I grew up within a large extended family in North East England. I always had my head in a book as a child, and in teenage years devoured every book I could lay my hands on. Following a period of study, I settled in Lancashire for fifteen years, before returning to the city of Newcastle. I am married with two adult sons. I arrived late to writing following a career in Children's Social Care.
When I'm not writing, you'll find me socialising with friends and family on Newcastle's Quayside, enjoying walks along our stunning coastline, and have been known to take refreshing sunrise dips in the North Sea.
